The Institute emphasizes interdisciplinary study, fostering the understanding, deepening, and analysis of Canon and Ecclesiastical Law, using modern research tools and relevant sources.

The Institute collaborates with ecclesiastical organizations, theological schools, higher ecclesiastical academies, theological education structures, higher educational institutions, companies, associations, as well as with equivalent academic institutes in Greece and abroad.

The Institute's Library provides access to a rich collection of books and materials for researchers, students, and scholars, ensuring continuous renewal and enrichment of its collection.

At the European level, the Institute focuses on research and comparative studies of Canon and Ecclesiastical Law, creating a database of canonical legal data, and organizing programs that promote interdisciplinary dialogue.
